NYS Voters Taking Local or Statewide Action for Better Education and Smarter Taxation
Listed below are groups, individuals, and blogs whose activities reflect and/or overlap some aspect of BEST4NY’s interests and priorities. Inclusion on this list does not signify any official BEST4NY endorsement of any group or individual, or any listed group’s or individual’s endorsement of BEST4NY. The purpose of this list is to identify grassroots activity, allow for exchange of information and ideas, and help voters who wish to become involved to find a way to do so.
Voters should feel free to contact any of the listed groups or individuals, whether or not in their local area. Voters from all parts of New York State can multiply their efforts by sharing information, ideas, and exploring ways to unite in common, statewide action as well as local action.
Some of the listed groups or individuals deal with issues beyond BEST4NY’s parameters, but are included because there is some overlap with BEST4NY concerns. Search those listings for the relevant material.
People sometimes decide not to do anything, because they can only do a tiny bit. The enormity of the problem seems to make what little time or money they might contribute insignificant. BEST4NY views any contribution of time and effort as better than none. Many hands make for small work and sometimes a big result. Many people who become interested in these matters start with something quite small, e.g. a letter to their newspaper, attending a budget public hearing and asking questions, emailing local elected officials or NYS legislators. A beach is many grains of sand. A WAVE at a football stadium is lots of people who just stand up at the right time.
If any group or individual listed below wishes to be deleted from this list, please contact us and we will comply. School districts are listed for informational purposes only.
Any group or individual dual anywhere in New York State who wishes to be added to this list should contact BEST4NY.
