BEST4NY founders endorse the education and tax relief agenda of the Westchester-Putnam School Board Association (“WPSBA”). That agenda includes:
• Mandate Relief: Repeal regulations and legislation which drive up school district expenditures, and provide appropriate funding for all mandates.
• Pension Reform: Adopt a defined contribution retirement model with increased employee contributions during retirement.
• Tenure Reform: Establish a system that allows a 5 year probationary period and renewable tenure, and abolishes Last In First Out (LIFO)
• Triborough Amendment: End automatic increases for expired contracts and establish a level playing field for School Districts during negotiations.
WPSBA is an association of school boards in Westchester and Putnam Counties. WPSBA advocates for legislation that supports public education.
